Conventional household cleaners can be full of nasty stuff. They’re even linked to poor indoor air quality. Not only are there harsh chemicals involved, there’s a certain amount of waste — from disposable sponges to paper towels — that’s not so eco-friendly.
Don’t despair! Here are six products from Etsy to help [...]

Summer’s winding down, and it’s time to sharpen those pencils! While Americans have spent less on school supplies this year, the average family still spends about $550. Instead of shopping at a big box store, why not support some independent crafters and get a few of your back to school supplies in green [...]

So we’ve made the switch to recycled toilet paper in the name of saving virgin forests, but it turns out that the bathroom isn’t the only room in the house with the potential for producing lots of waste. Etsy Find: Tubular Upcycled Notebook

Etsy Find: Tubular Upcycled Notebook

I love this repurposed bike tire notebook from the Palepink Etsy shop. Palepink takes used bike tires, cleans them up then sews them onto a hard plastic cover, lines them with felt, bounds the notepaper (I hope it’s recycled paper!) and seals them with an fabric elastic band. Since these are made from actual used bike tires each notbook is different with slightly different treads and some with repaired battle wounds.

Reclaiming Old Furniture With a New Edge

Reclaiming Old Furniture With a New Edge

Laurent Corio designed this new take on an old piece of furniture. The trestle legs, reminiscent of a saw horse, give this old table a whole new aura. As an antique fanatic (maybe a strange pastime for a 28 year old male) I see mountains of decent furniture that just looks tired and lacks that [...]
