Hernando Barragan has entered his Social-environmental Station into this years Greener Gadgets Design Competition. The idea is to display current environmental conditions that are usually ignored or not well understood. Factors such as parts per million CO2 in the air will be as commonly understood as the temperature.

Developed by Dr. Klaus Lackner these synthetic trees could be used as CO2 scrubbers cleaning our air. Using a chemical reaction to pull carbon dioxide from the air this technology could buy the world time to development and implement alternative energy sources.
