If you can only have one tool, this is it. Dremels are built to last and they are the most versital rotary tool ever made. With thousands of accessories you can cut, sand, polish, grind, drill, carve, engrave, clean, contour, sharpen... pretty much do anything with power and precision. I actually just got a little wasteful and got a cordless Dremel for myself (even though my 20 year old corded model is still going strong).
