These pieces are from the “Laminated Lumber Project” at TEORI Co. LTD.  The site is in Japanese and the Google translation is not so great so bear with me.  From what I can tell they commissioned 6 designers to make a range of sustainable products from plywood and achieved some amazing results…

I think the goal of the project was to create beautiful and unique sustainable products from , but it was also an exploration into the refining process.  To be honest with you I am not exactly sure what they found.  They list some of the challenges they faced from working with but I’m not even going to try to explain.  They have an English version of the site under construction so until then if your Japanese is good feel free to give us the lowdown.  Until then I can say they have made some real eye catching stuff.  [via:Notcot]
