A couple days ago we wrote about Mottainai Furoshiki, the use of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth as a sustainable alternative to disposable bags, wrapping paper, you name it… We loved this idea so much we started using it right away. We made this video to show how easy and fun it is…

The thing I love most about this is that you don’t have to carry a bag around with you. You simply incorporate this into your outfit and you are always prepared for the impromptu stop at the store, or the library.

Another great use is as an alternative to wrapping paper. Besides being more eco-friendly, it is a gift in and of it self. I will never buy wrapping paper again! I really hope that this catches on here in the US.

Yes we used a 36″ x 36″ piece of fabric. I guess we should have put that in the post
