Etsy Find: Tubular Upcycled Notebook
Posted on May 8, 2009 by Matt Embrey in Living
I love this repurposed bike tire notebook from the Palepink Etsy shop. Palepink takes used bike tires, cleans them up then sews them onto a hard plastic cover, lines them with felt, bounds the notepaper (I hope it’s recycled paper!) and seals them with an fabric elastic band. Since these are made from actual used bike tires each notbook is different with slightly different treads and some with repaired battle wounds.
Each notebook has 360 pages (counting both sides), measures 3.1 inches by 4.7 inches and costs $29. I can’t really tell how the paper is attached to the cover but it would be cool if it were removable so if you were using it as a notebook, you could put refils in there. I was thinking this would also make a cool cover for a photo album. If you are feeling creative this is a great DIY project inspiration, otherwise support this great Etsy artist and just buy one.
