Recycled Bike Clock

Made from reclaimed bike parts & fabric

I love bike gears and this is by far the best re-use I have seen to date.  Etsy artist 1byLiz cleans up old bike parts and turns them into stylish clocks accented by coloful reclaimed fabric.

Each clock bears this little note:

"Each chain ring is thoroughly cleaned before use with every effort made to bring out its very best, however, due to the recycled nature of this product some scratches may remain."

For me the scratches and signs of wear are the best part.  They add character and history and set these apart from similar more commercial verisons using brand new parts.  Check out her shop!

    Does anyone know of Bike Gear light fixtures. Looking for a sconce light for a bike shop. Needs to be UL approved.

    [...] Really cool wall clocks from bike parts and reclaimed fabric.  To the uninitiated, Etsy is a marketplace for people to sell their homemade crafts, jewelry, clothing, art, you name it.  Tons of really cool original stuff, most of it fairly inexpensive.  Stumbled on this site by way of greenupgrader, which has some pretty clever examples of green design and ideas for greener living.  The vertical garden built from reclaimed gutters is a particularly nifty idea, good for maximizing growing potential on that south-facing sun-exposed wall or balcony.
