Hello Craft is hosting the very first Summit of Awesome May 1-3 in Washington D.C.!

What is the Summit of Awesome? It’s three days of workshops, seminars, and socializing for independent artists and crafters of all skill levels. Organizer Kelly Rand says it’s “a one way ticket to propel you and your craft to the next level.”
The seminars range from information on getting your crafty business off the ground to a lunch and learn with Maria Thomas, Etsy’s CEO! I’ll be speaking on the Crafting a Green Craft panel along with Liz Grotyohann and her fiance Jeff, the co-founders of Cosa Verde, and Jamie Chan and Blas Herrera, the owners of Urban Fauna Studio. I’m also really excited about hitting up the panel on Consumption and Sustainability: How DIY will Save the World, with Autumn Wiggins from Upcycle Exchange and Sara Cotner of $2000 Wedding!
The Summit includes the D.C. premiere showing of Faythe Levine’s Handmade Nation. The indie craft documentary features the superstars of the indie craft world, and documents the the roots and development of the craft movement.
Tickets to the Summit and to the film are limited, . You can check out the full schedule from Hello Craft right here. If you’re interested in attending, you can register right here. I hope to see you in D.C.!
