Good writeup but buy a color temp meter before you publish again.

Very thorough and really appreciate seeing the photos, thanks. I’ve experimented with a few myself. Lots of duds. Finally found a brand that is meeting my family’s expectations. If you decide to do a Round 2, I recommend you check out Novicomm, they’ve got a lot of bulbs that fit for homeowners, but I think they mostly sell to businesses. I was able buy some samples – so far the best we found.

We have 4 of the 3.5 watt and 3 of the 5 watt LOA LED floods in our kitchen and while not the best of light, I wouldn’t say it’s horrendous. We have a sun tunnel in our kitchen and the light from the LOA bulbs is about equal to the daylight coming through the sun tunnel. Daylight is not something that we are used to having come out of a light bulb and a warm white would probably be preferable, but for 7 bulbs to use a total of 29 watts is pretty cool. I’m looking forward to LED light bulb quality going up and price coming down. LEDs throughout our home will make the 3 kW PV solar system on our roof look like a major power plant.

The Earth LED you got, (the PAR 30) I got by accident once, and it is not the most pleasant color, it’s true. However, their Lumiselect PAR 38 is a beautiful very incandescent like color light coming in at 24 watts. The bummer is the price at 99 dollars, but this thing is absolutely the stuff. If you’ve got the cash to do it and you are commited to this thing, I *highly* recommend checking them out, and they are dimmable. I’m sort of obsessed with LED lighting (loser, I know) and these beat all the others I’ve seen hands down. The “100 watt replacement” one is great too. No, I am not a professional shill for this company. End of rant!

Lights of America LED lights are garbage. Less than a year has passed since I purchased several different styles of their LED lights. I now have 100% failure of all the lights. Now I have to wast my time to see if I can find the receipt and pay the postage to send the lights back to “Lights of America” to get them replaced. I will never purchase this brand of light again. Regular inexpensive incandescant bulbs last longer than their LED lights!

There is a relatively new company Infinity LED, I picked some PAR 38 bulbs . Very Impressed with the light output on these at $39.99 instead of 99.00…

These are brighter than my 65 watt GE Reveal bulbs and are only 7 watts, and cool to the touch. They are also white and blend with my recessed fixtures.

I agree with the Lights of America comments, absolute garbage!

Check them out , they are pretty cool!!!

I do not know what I could possibly have sorted out without the type of recommendations shown by you over my situation.
