Zoomi Scooters' 2009 Monterey electric bicycle will help even the laziest rider commute up hills, to the store, or out for drinks with minimal effort. The bike gets up to 33 miles per charge, and has a top speed of 25 miles per hour, so you can get where you're going without worrying if you'll get there in time, or if you'll get back before your battery dies.
The Monterey has a 350 Watt brushless motor and a 36 volt/13aH Lithium-ion battery, giving you 30% more riding time than many other electric bicycles. The battery locks into the frame, but is removable for charging if you wish. Battery life is about 800 cycles.
Disc brakes help you stop in a hurry, and the light-weight aluminum frame keeps the bike from weighing a ton. The step-through frame means ease of mounting, no matter what you're wearing, and the city-bike style rise handlebars makes for an upright ride instead of the typical mountain or road bike 'hunch'.
The Shimano 6 speed derailleur, front suspension fork, front light, and a rear cargo rack add to the practicality of the Monterey. This could be your next commuter vehicle!
If you've got the option to buy renewable energy from your electric supplier, the Monterey would be a pollution-free ride for your errands, commute, or just for fun.
Zoomi Scooters is currently shipping the Monterey, and is looking for dealers, both brick and mortar and online. If you're considering getting into electric vehicles, the Zoomi sounds like a good place to start.
