Electric companies in our area are doing similar things with wind energy in the gorge. You can now choose to pay a certain portion for wind energy rather than other sources. This is a great idea in areas that depend on fossil fuels, but if you live in an area where hydroelectric power is widely available than its not so much of an issue.

Wind Power is very popular around here. There are several large wind farms within 15 miles and several home owners that produce their own wind power. Thanks for writing about this great energy resource.
