Fantastic Tables from Recycled Car Hoods

Dallas welder and furniture maker Joel Hester is breathing new life into our American car culture with his line of tables made from the sheetmetal hoods of junkyard cars. The colorful rusted hoods will make a big visual impact in any home, and with some of the materials being repurposed and upcycled, you can feel good about buying new furniture.

The frames are made from new steel tubing, and the adjustable feet compensate for uneven surfaces. This is industrial design at its best, using American ingenuity and our "throwaways" to build furniture that might properly be qualified as art.

The retro-look tables are cleaned and buffed, then clear-coated to preserve the amazing coloration of rust and oxidation that are truly one-of-a-kind.

Joel's inventory also includes bed frames, executive desks, printer stands, benches, and TV cabinets. He posts photos from his material scouting expeditions, and if you see a hood that you like, he can make a custom table for you.
