We found this item on Etsy, made by Gaye Abandon, based out of Melbourne Australia. Scrap pieces of cut up sweaters (used for their other projects) were stitched together into this appealing and unique scarf. A truly beautiful form!

Using a zig zag stitch (found on any sewing machine) the sweater scraps in black, grey, blue, and brown offer a fuzzy and textured finish that could make an easy DIY winter project.

Gaye Abandon in particular crafts their wares using a no waste policy and 100% wind generated energy. They also use old sweaters to make wallets and tube arm warmers. Check them out on Etsy.

“I love being a part of the active world. The stuff that blows my hair back is adventure (all shapes and sizes), photography, mountaineering, Muay Thai, and seeing natural beauty in all its forms. The living earth is the framework on which I build my life and free time. My ideal trip would be BASE jumping at Sotano de Las Golandrinas in Mexico (closest I could come to skydiving through the jungle!). I work towards keeping it real, green, and healthy. ”
