Artistic Recycling: Amazing Uses for Leftover Bottle Caps
People are slowly becoming more aware of their effects on the planet and environments around them. As we awaken to the realities of pollution and other serious environmental issues, we need to find ways to solve our “man made” problems. Upcycling is a way of converting our garbage into other things which can be used and enjoyed again.

These sculptural pieces by Rick Ladd evoke a baroque furniture feel to the pieces. The complexity and inventiveness of the bottle caps make this ordinary chair and mirror into fine works of art worthy of showing in any gallery.

These colourful pieces also by Rick Ladd are part of his baroque style furniture series utilizing bottle caps as means of transformation. The mounting of the clock faces on both the dresser and the chair add a certain grace to the pieces while still feeling very heavily baroque. He has recycled thousands of bottle caps from his local bar into artistic, sculptural furniture which has been shown at many galleries and museums.

This is amazing stuff! Just goes to show that whatever we throw away - however small - has some intrinsic value somewhere else!

I’m so glad you guys like this! It’s amazing what people can do when they really set their minds to using less and especially, discarding less. We should really look twice at what we’re throwing away each day and decide if that is really the best choice. Thanks everyone!!!

This is great. I’ve been collecting individual caps, but recycling my repeats, now I’m packrating them all for a big project. Check out the cork head — a mask made of corks:
