Green On The Go: The Bento Lunch

For more resources, there are several sites that I’m now reading regularly about bento:

Justbento and Justhungry are two sites written by the same blogger, and give great recipes and fantastic photos and ideas about both Bento and Japanese food in general. Another great site is Lunchinabox run by a mom, Biggie, who packs great lunches for her kid, and also is quite comprehensive about Bento, finding Bento accessories, recipes and healthy ideas. I’ve found these to be the most useful resources by far. These, and the livejournal community bento lunches have been my favorite websites, although there are also many great blogs out there dedicated to Bento.

Packing your own lunch is a simple green upgrade that reduces your eco-footprint, encourages you to try new things and be more creative with your food. If you are still skeptical, start slow- commit to a few lunches a week packed at home, convince a few coworkers to try it with you, and soon you will be completely hooked!

Mmm… Bento *is* good. Another great green-on-the-go option is the South Asian tiffin box. Stack your curry containers on top of your rice container, lock the mechanism and you’ve got delicious food at the ready!

Mmm, looks tasty. Could you send me both those bento for a taste review please? ;)

I’ve seen Bento boxes in restaurants filled with tempting Asian cuisine and Bento boxes you can use instead of regular lunch boxes. It never dawned on me to use a regular ziploc container. Thanks.
