An absolutely superb find on Etsy is this antique recycled elevator pulley and spool crafted into a story filled end table. “The cable spool was originally made by the J.W. Reedy Manufacturing Company in Chicago and put into service in the late 1800’s. The cable spool was removed from the Hamilton building in downtown Denver.” Topped with a cut piece of round glass and covered in a durable clear coat this end table is built to last indoors or out.

This seller (Curtsadler) has also constructed a table from reclaimed granite from the dump mounted on six welded “leaf springs taken from a 1980 C-J 7 Jeep.”

A successful (and artistic) raid of the junkyard producing some diesel furniture pieces with just a little elbow grease and vision.

Doug is in perpetual motion and a self-proclaimed adventure junkie, that has had a longtime love affair with the great outdoors.
“I love being a part of the active world. The stuff that blows my hair back is adventure (all shapes and sizes), photography, mountaineering, Muay Thai, and seeing natural beauty in all its forms. The living earth is the framework on which I build my life and free time. My ideal trip would be BASE jumping at Sotano de Las Golandrinas in Mexico (closest I could come to skydiving through the jungle!). I work towards keeping it real, green, and healthy. ”
