Skate Study House designed this lounge chair incorporating used skateboard decks and carries many other sun, surf, and sand inspired home decor products. Skate Study House strives to be eco-minded using second hand components, such as the skateboard decks and wheels, the final product is definitely greater than the sum of its parts. The decks have been refinished and creatively rearrange by Pierre-André Senizergues and Gil De Le Bon Lapointe. The smooth flowing lines of a skate deck are twisted, joined, flipped, and cut to build these functional shapes. Skate Study House has taken repurposing to the next level!
The Tokyo Lounge Table uses a single deck cut and twisted with mounted glass atop.
Using polyurethane skate wheels the Astro Clock has a colorful vintage appeal.
The LKJ Bench uses a longboard deck cut with slats and polished into a beautifully natural piece of furniture.
SSH (Skate Study House) basis its design movement on the post war California community project titles Case Study House with the goal “to design and build inexpensive and efficient model homes for the United States residential housing boom caused by the end of World War II and the return of millions of soldiers.” SSH echoes this effort with the vision of a skateboarder.
