Renault is unveiling their variation on a theme, the diesel , flax bodywork, recyclable eco ride. The Ondelios has some interesting additions for a high performance vehicle. With three rows of seating, wing hinged doors, and room for 6 people this high occupancy vehicle would be great for carpooling! Honestly though, the efficiency of the Ondelios is partially due to its light weight construction using carbon fiber and polycarbonate components along with the flax composite material that is a popular talking point with the new Renault concept.

The “mild” using a diesel engine with a complimentary lithium ion battery engine (two by 20kW motors) that assists the combustion engine and is are brake and boost charged batteries. The Ondelios will produce roughly 120grams of CO2 per kilometer and will have a fuel efficiency of 52mpg. On the track it claims a 7.8s 0-60mph acceleration yet is decked out for passenger comfort with multiple entertainment and gaming centers, speakers in the headrests, and climate control for each passenger. Renault presents the Ondelios as a “long-distance travel-loving aerodynamic crossover born for the open road.”
