This is a perfect solution for that blown out tire from the morning commute…fashion it into a belt! Velo-re furbishes beautiful belts from old bike tires. They incorporate all sorts of treads and sizes from knobby mountain tires to smooth slicks. Velo-re has two stock styles, Beltoe and Beltie, which are slick and semi-slick treads.

The smoother of the styles are the more worn out rear tires while the front tire typically retains some tread detail. However, their “one-offs” section offers bicycles tires of all tread patterns and even colors. “Tyres can be tired but don’t have to retire, that’s why they are re-tyred” says Christian Baumgartner and Bettina Galizzi who designed the belt concept. The scars give each product its own story and life from long miles on the mean streets.

Doug is in perpetual motion and a self-proclaimed adventure junkie, that has had a longtime love affair with the great outdoors.
“I love being a part of the active world. The stuff that blows my hair back is adventure (all shapes and sizes), photography, mountaineering, Muay Thai, and seeing natural beauty in all its forms. The living earth is the framework on which I build my life and free time. My ideal trip would be BASE jumping at Sotano de Las Golandrinas in Mexico (closest I could come to skydiving through the jungle!). I work towards keeping it real, green, and healthy. ”
