We have a few more details on yesterdays post about the e-waste recycling mail back program…  The USPS will run the pilot program for 90 days in which time they will determine if the consumers response to this program warrants a nation wide roll out.

The envelopes are available in 1500 post offices across 10 areas throughout California, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.  If you live in one of these areas to find out if your post office is participating you’ll have to call them or go down and look for the "Free Recycling" lobby display.

Currently they are accepting the following items for the mail back program:

  • Cell phones
  • PDAs/ Blackberries
  • MP3 players
  • Digital cameras
  • Ink jet cartridges
  • iPods
