Drink, Water, Grow, Brew, Drink… Beer Bench?

Ok, my Italian is a little rusty but from what I can tell here is the winner of the Nastro Assurro Design Award Competition held in Milan for the best reuse of a Nastro Azzurro bottle.  Essential it is a bench with a built in barley patch that you can sit and drink your “Juice of the Barley.”  When you are done, you fill the bottle up and tip it into the side of the bench and that waters you barley patch.  Now if you know how to harvest the barley and turn it back into beer then this would really be closing the loop!  It is definitely far fetched and I think it’s supposed to be.  The biggest clue was the other entrants.  Since I can’t read a lick of their web site I have to assume that the designer did not intend for used beer bottles to be recycled into a baseball bat, otherwise, it is safe to say those bottles didn’t empty themselves and they went through a lot before coming up with that.  More pictures after the jump…
