Don’t take offense, but you need to clarify your recipe. I can’t understand the directions either, because there is a missing step. The “rest” of the ingredients that you didn’t toss onto the veggies is one ingredient – garlic. Do you mean to say that you need to reserve the liquid drained off the the veggies, add the garlic, and this is then this becomes the brine mixture?
