I’ve done quite a bit of checking in the ebike area. I strongly recommend finding a good dealer for any electric bike. Preferably someone who carries a variety of brands.

The electric Schwinn has a reputation for being a very interesting design, but one that is plagued with problems. It is probably best to wait for their next model to see if they’ve sorted that out.

One of the most authoritative sites on the web for testing ebikes is the atob buyer’s guide at http://www.atob.org.uk/Electric_Buyers‘_Guide.html … They have high level comments that may help you narrow things down and a subscription is a very cheap way to get all of the full reviews.
