I know, I know. You probably haven't even taken down the Christmas tree yet, but New Year's Eve is less than a week away, and I've got resolutions on the brain.
For years, I didn't make new year's resolutions. I'm a big believer in small changes, and grand resolutions felt like setting myself up to fail. Plus, it feels like the standard resolutions aren't really my speed. You always hear folks resolving to do things like lose weight or go to the gym, and those kinds of resolutions don't really speak to me.
Last year, though, I resolved to find chances to use my crafty skill in new places, and I have to say that it was really fun! I got crafty in the garden, made my own cruelty-free feathers, and played around with paper crafts more than I ever had before. Since it's getting to be resolution time again, I think I want to make another crafty new year's resolution:
I resolve to use my crafty skills to make and mend before buying new!
Of course, you can't exactly knit a cellphone or repair a broken dishwasher with washi tape, but my goal this year is to look at anything that we "need" with a critical, crafty eye and avoid buying new wherever I can.
Do any of you guys have green new year's resolutions? Share away in the comments!
