Can you believe it's fall already? With blustery weather approaching, a good door mat is key to keeping your floors dry, but conventional doormats are often chock full of petroleum products. Here are a couple of eco-friendly door mat options to protect your floors without giving you any green guilt!
Bike Tube Door Mat
Over at We Upcycle, you can learn how to crochet your very own door mat out of spent bicycle tubes! I love that they used a tent peg in place of a crochet hook to wrangle all of that tubing. If you don't have a stash of busted tires, don't despair! Most local bike shops will be happy to give you old tires instead of tossing them into the dumpster.
Recycled Rubber Doormat
If crochet isn't your thing, you can still add an eco-friendly doormat to your entryway. Amazon has a big selection of recycled rubber doormats. I'm particularly into this rubber loop doormat from Imports Unlimited. The organic design is really cute, and I think it would feel cool on your feet, too!
