Etsy Find: Upcycled Plastic Bag Bracelets
Posted on May 28, 2008 by Matt Embrey in Clothes+Accessories
This eco-chic bracelets are made from used, tightly wound plastic bags and vintage copper bangle bracelets. The seller, GarbageOfEdenDesign uses only used bags which she got from friends, family and people that responded to her Freecycle ads. No need to worry they were all thoroughly washed with veggie based soap. Plus, she gives 10% of the gross (total price you paid) goes to charity. Ecomazing!
Here’s a breakdown of where each colored bag came from:
Blue - NY Times newspaper bag
Yellow - Middletown Press newspaper bag
Orange - Middletown Press newspaper bag
White, Black & Purple - those bags full of ads everybody in Brooklyn gets, the bags had a Kohls ad printed on them
White, Blue & Yellow - packaging for paper towels
Beige - grocery bag
Red - bag from Chinatown
You can buy them at her Etsy Shop.
