Craft Recycled: Junk Mail Craft Projects [slideshow]

Paper Flower Embellishments

This tutorial is for scrapbooking, but I think these paper flowers would be a lovely way to dress up a wrapped gift, a cork board, or even strung together to create bunting or a mobile. She's using fancy paper here, and junk mail would work just as well. You could also use embroidery thread and a vintage button to hold your layers together instead of a brad.

    this is my first comment here.
    I work at a nursery with 3 year old kids. We practice cutting together. When i first started the job, I saw them giving the children A4 printer paper to practice snipping and cutting. that made my heart stop. So, in the following meeting, I asked everyone to get the fliers we get with newspapers or in our mail.
    This way, we saved the printer paper for other projects; we used up the excess fliers and it’s a great chance for the children to learn new vocab from the fliers.

    To get off junk mail lists – just “Return to Sender” and repost.  They will have to pay the postage and will soon get you off the list.  I have seen this done with Real Estate letters and it really did work.
