2. Paper Beads

Junk mail is perfect for making paper beads. Sure, you can use fancy paper, like in the video, but junk mail works just as well (even the glossy sort). By the time you cut your triangles and roll things up, all you'll really see are the colors. The insides of those printed security envelopes make really beautiful paper beads, too.

This is a great recycling project to do with kids, and you don't need that special roller either. A toothpick or bamboo skewer works just as well.

    this is my first comment here.
    I work at a nursery with 3 year old kids. We practice cutting together. When i first started the job, I saw them giving the children A4 printer paper to practice snipping and cutting. that made my heart stop. So, in the following meeting, I asked everyone to get the fliers we get with newspapers or in our mail.
    This way, we saved the printer paper for other projects; we used up the excess fliers and it’s a great chance for the children to learn new vocab from the fliers.

    To get off junk mail lists – just “Return to Sender” and repost.  They will have to pay the postage and will soon get you off the list.  I have seen this done with Real Estate letters and it really did work.
