BTW, homemade chalkboard paint = kinda awful. We did this for the growBot project @ 01SJ. It is a volatile mixture that dries very quickly, so you have to make it in small batches and use immediately:

It turns out pretty lumpy unless you mix *really* carefully, and that&#039;s a no-go for chalk writing. 

Our chalkboard pegboards turned out well, but it took at least 5 times as long as regular paint - overall not that worth it.
