Knoend’s No Packaging Light

Here’s a cool waste reducing concept… The lite2go by Knoend  is is a retail packaged light that uses the packaging as part of it’s function so there is virtually no waste.  Every part of the product is either recyclable or biodegradable.  The packaging which doubles as a shade is made from recyclable polypropylene plastic.  Inside is an energy efficient CFL bulb, the cord and an instruction manual.  The cord and bulb can be recycled locally, although if you can’t find a local recycling facility Knoend will recycle it for you.  The manual label and a small amount of natural hemp twine are the only things that don’t get used as part of the lamp, leaving less than 1 oz of waste that is biodegradable.  The manual and label are printed on recycled paper with eco-friendly soy based inks.  Compared to the amount of packaging you would normally be left with after purchasing a tradition lamp and bulb, the lite2go offers a huge waste reduction (check out the video after the jump). 

The lite2go can be used as a hanging or table lamp.
