Instead of helping college students make bad decisions, Four Loko is now going to power your car as biofuel.
Now that there's a ban on alcoholic energy drinks, retailers across the country have cans of the stuff that they can't sell. Rather than let all of that product head to the landfill, MXI Enterprises in Abingdon, VA is turning it into biofuel.
Soon, when you see "contains up to 10% ethanol" at the pump, you could be filling your tank with reclaimed alcohol from these popular caffeinated malt liquor drinks. MXI Enterprises is buying up all of those unsellable cans of Four Loko, distilling the alcohol into ethanol and recycling the water. They're even recycling the cans and cardboard from the drink's packaging.
