I have a bead project at my art/reuse site for kids. Called The Imagination Factory, everything there is made of scrap or repurposed materials. All you need to make a bead is some ribbon, a toothpick, and glue. To begin, glue the ribbon to itself, and then roll the ribbon tightly till you reach the diameter you’d like. Glue the bead, remove the toothpick, and continue making beads. Besides using for jewelry and other beaded items, a garland made this way would look great on a Christmas tree.

What a cute idea! It sounds similar to making paper beads, only with ribbon.

Yes, that’s exactly what it is. You can also use wallpaper strips to make the beads.

      I love it!
