Are you a crafty hoarder like I am? If so, you probably have accumulated quite a bit of ribbon over the past couple of months. Every gift I received this year was tied with a bow, and of course I couldn't bring myself to toss all of that lovely ribbon in the trash! Luckily, there are lots of fun, crafty ways to bust your ribbon stash!
1. Fabric Scrap Banner
Use that old ribbon and some fabric scraps from your stash to make a pretty fabric banner. The tutorial calls for seam binding, but wide ribbon folded in half would work just as well. If you have super narrow ribbon, you could even just zig zag stitch your pennants onto the ugly side. If you hang the bunting against a wall or mantle, no one will be the wiser!
2. Ribbon Bulletin Board
This project from DIY calls for a cork board, but you could also use a reclaimed piece of wood, since the ribbon is what holds things in place, not push pins. I think that this ribbon bulletin board would look lovely if you paired the right fabric with an eclectic mix of ribbon from your stash!
3. Ribbon Flowers
We've talked about making fabric forever flowers, but did you know that you can make pretty bouquets out of ribbon, too? Here's a video that shows you how to turn that leftover ribbon into a lovely rose:
How sweet would that be for Valentine's day?
4. Ribbon Necklace
This is a super-simple one and would be a great craft project to do with kids! You can use that ribbon stash to whip up some super adorable ribbon necklaces. Bonus points if you make the pendant from reclaimed materials, too!
