Eco-Friendly Flexible Seating: The FlexibleLove
4Posted on May 9, 2008 by Matt Embrey in Home+Decor
The FlexibleLove 16 seats one to sixteen people. It uses an accordion like honeycomb structure to compact to a single chair or expand into an number of styles that can seat up to sixteen adults! The FlexibleLove 16 is made entirely from recycled materials (post-consumer recycled paper and post-industrial recycled wood) and uses pre-existing production processes to reduce environmental impact during manufacturing.
Taiwan based designer, Chishen Chiu, came up with the idea one day when he stumbled upon a factory making wooden pallet replacements out of recycled cardboard honeycomb sheets. Chiu was intrigued by the strength of the honeycomb design and speculated that it’s strength could be used in other ways to make flexible, yet rigid structures. Chiu took the unique properties of the honeycomb and created this innovative furniture. This truly is an eco-friendly and versatile seating solution. The FlexibleLove is also available in 8 and 12 person versions as well.

Hey! Thanks for the great info about eco-friendly seating. I like the look!
I was browsing through a bunch of green websites and blogs and I came across yours and found it very interesting. There are a bunch of others I like too, like the daily green, ecorazzi and earthlab.com. I especially like EarthLab.com’s carbon calculator (http://www.earthlab.com/signupprofile/). I find it really easy to use (it doesn’t make me feel guilty after I take it).
Are there any others you would recommend? Can you drop me a link to your favorites (let me know if they are the same as mine).
