The Zero Emissions Tesla Electric Roadster

The long awaited Tesla Roadster is finally out with the opening of the Tesla showroom in Hollywood, but don’t get too excited, all the 2008 models have been sold and there’s already a long line for the 2009 models. Here’s a quick breakdown for those of you who are not already familiar with this environmental dream machine… 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds… 125mph top speed… 220mile range… 135 mpg equivalent… 0 emissions… and a $109,000 base price!
Ok, before I get slammed with emails, let me qualify one statement… The car is electric so it produces not direct green house gas emissions, but yes it does plug into the wall which gets it’s juice from power plants, so it does indirectly contribute to the emission of green house gasses. That being said the other drawback to being electric is that long road trips require stopping and charging up. The car can be fully charged from a regular wall socket in about 3.5 hours which is pretty good, but would definitely put a cramp in a trip up the Cali coast line. Ok, now let’s get back to basking in the beauty of this car so, fingers crossed, Tesla sends me one, like the reusable bag companies that send us bags they want us to write about.
electric, sports car, Tesla
