The El Diablo (The Devil!) is a great way to cool down and heat things up this summer.
This recipe blends mellow organic Reposado Tequila with spicy ginger beer, cool lime and a splash of crème de cassis. I love 4Copas Organic Tequilas and recommend their Reposado for this blend. There are a number of organic ginger ales out there but I prefer ginger beer (a little spicier and robust) which is sometimes hard to find so for those of you with a penchant for ginger and who are feeling adventerous here's a homemade ginger beer recipie at ForGreenies.com. Finally if you're already in the lab cooking up some ginger beer, why don't you have your hand at making your own crème de cassis.
- About 1 cup ice cubes
- 1/4 cup (2 oz) organic reposado tequila
- 6 tablespoons (3 oz) organic ginger beer
- 1 teaspoon crème de cassis
- 1 lime wedge
Combine the ice and Tequila in a 10 oz glass and top it with the ginger beer. Slow pour the crème de cassis allowing it to settle to the bottom, then squeeze in your lime, pop the wedge on top and serve!
